Modeling an accretion disc stochastical variability

چکیده
ABSTRACT Hot spots residing on the surface of an accretion disc have been considered as a model of short-term variability of active galactic nuclei. In this paper we apply the theory of random point processes to model the observed signal from an ensemble of randomly generated spots. The influence of general relativistic effects near a black hole is taken into account and it is shown that typical features of power spectral density can be reproduced. Connection among spots is also discussed in terms of Hawkes’ process, which produces more power at low frequencies. We derive a semi-analytical way to approximate the resulting power-spectral density.

The Role of Thermal Conduction in Accretion Disks with Outflows
In this work we solve the set of hydrodynamical equations for accretion disks in the spherical coordinates (r,θ,ϕ) to obtain the explicit structure along θ direction. We study a two-dimensional advective accretion disc in the presence of thermal conduction. We find self-similar solutions for an axisymmetric, rotating, steady, viscous-resistive disk. We show that the global structure of an advec...
متن کاملAccretion disc - corona and jet emission from the radio - loud Narrow Line Seyfert
We perform X-ray/UV spectral and X-ray variability studies of the radio-loud Narrow Line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxy RXJ1633.3+4719 using XMM-Newton and Suzaku observations from 2011 and 2012. The 0.3−10 keV spectra consist of an ultra-soft component described by an accretion disc blackbody (kTin = 39.6 +11.2 −5.5 eV) and a power-law due to the thermal Comptonization (Γ = 1.96 −0.31) of the disc em...
متن کاملX-ray iron line variability for the model of an orbiting flare above a black hole accretion disc
The broad X-ray iron line, detected in many active galactic nuclei, is likely to be produced by fluorescence from the X-ray illuminated central parts of an accretion disc close to a supermassive black hole. The time-averaged shape of the line can be explained most naturally by a combination of special and general relativistic effects. Such line profiles contain information about the black hole ...
متن کاملVariability of black hole accretion discs: The cool, thermal disc component
We extend the model of King et al. (2004) for variability in black hole accretion discs, by taking proper account of the thermal properties of the disc. Because the degree of variability in the King et al. (2004) model depends sensitively on the ratio of disc thickness to radius, H/R, it is important to follow the time-dependence of the local disc structure as the variability proceeds. In commo...
متن کاملTauri Variability in the Context of the Beat Frequency Model
We examine the implications of a beat frequency modulatedmodel of T Tauri accretion. In particular we show that measurements of the variability of accretion generated lines can be used in conjunction with existing photometry to obtain a measurement of the underlying photospheric and disc ux. This provides an independent way of checking spectral energy distribution modelling. In addition, we sho...
